WOLVES IN THE STREETS: MN 115 – ORL 93
Home of Disney, 10.24.26- Orlando thought they were hosting a basketball game. What
they got was a full-court mugging- Minnesota Timberwolves style.
The Wolves rolled into the Kia Center and made it clear from
tip-off: this ain't your older brother's Minnesota squad. Smaller? Maybe.
Mightier? No question. The Wolves opened the game like they had something
to prove, dropping 26 in the first and never, not once- let Orlando sniff the
lead.
Anthony Edwards came in riding a 45-point tidal wave
from Miami two nights ago, and Orlando tried to lock him in a cage. They held
Ant to a rough 5-of-23 from the floor, but that's the thing about this Wolves
squad: they don't need one hero, they need five. When the wolves run in a pack,
one cold gun doesn't stop the hunt. Edwards still found ways- 4 steals, his
trademark ferocity, and a thunderous Q4 running dunk off an Ayo Dosunmu
feed that sent the remaining Orlando faithful reaching for the exits.
LaMelo Ball was exactly what this roster needed- a
maestro, a connector, a bucket when it mattered. Cool as a ceiling fan, Melo
ran the pick-and-roll like he invented it in a park somewhere, finished at the
rim, knocked down threes, and kept the Wolves' offense smooth as silk even when
Edwards was misfiring.
But the real street-ball story? Jaden McDaniels.
Long, rangy, relentless- JMac led all Wolves scorers with 15 points, shot a
clean 2-of-5 from deep, swatted two shots, and defended everyone Orlando threw
at him. This is the kind of player that doesn't show up in the highlight
package but makes the whole machine run.
The true dagger was the glass. Minnesota outrebounded
Orlando 60-43- an absurd, almost disrespectful advantage. The Wolves
grabbed 21 offensive boards to Orlando's 8, turned those into 17
second-chance points, and held Orlando without a single offensive rebound
for the first 19 minutes of the game. That's not just winning- that's imposing
your will.
Then came Q3. Wolves. Would. Not. Blink. A 29-15 third quarter bulldozed any remaining Magic resistance and stretched the lead to 26. By the fourth, coach Chris Finch was resting starters. Game. Over.

ORLANDO MAGIC
STARTING 5 | OVERVIEW & STATS
Orlando's starters had the individual numbers but couldn't
stop the bleeding. Wendell Carter Jr. was the lone bright spot, going a
near-perfect 8-of-9 from the field for a game-high 20 points. Franz Wagner
chipped in 18 but coughed up 6 turnovers and went 1-of-6 from three- ice cold
when it mattered. Paolo Banchero had 14 before sitting out the fourth
with right ankle soreness. Jalen Suggs contributed 14 points and 6
assists but couldn't manufacture offense against Minnesota's suffocating
defense. Desmond Bane was a ghost- 5 points, 2-of-11 from the floor,
1-of-9 from deep. Orlando shot a dismal 20.5% from three as a team.
Simply not enough.
