Her music masterfully blends the deep roots of Colombian folklore with contemporary funk influences, showcasing her remarkable versatility and creativity.

A Latin Grammy®-nominated artist, Nidia Góngora’s impact on the music industry is undeniable. She was named ‘Afro-Colombian of the Year’ and has collaborated with acclaimed artists such as Quantic, the Colombian reggaetón artist Feid, and Costa Rican poet Shirley Campbell Barr. Beyond her captivating musical career, Professor Góngora holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and is a dedicated researcher of traditional music from the Southern Colombian Pacific—a region whose music has been declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. For over a decade, she has been leading musical training for children in both rural and urban areas through the Fundación Escuela Canalón, a project vital for preserving and promoting the region’s cultural identity.

With over 20 years of international experience as a composer and performer, Nidia Góngora has successfully built bridges between the traditional music of her native Timbiquí (Cauca) and diverse world genres.
