SAINT PAUL, MN – Prepare for a day of vibrant celebration as the Rondo Block Party returns for its 3rd annual event on Saturday, August 2nd, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This much-anticipated community gathering will take place at the Rondo Commemorative Plaza, located at 820 Rondo Ave, St. Paul, MN.

More than just a block party, this event is a heartfelt tribute to the unique, vibrant, and dynamic essence of Rondo. For much of the 20th century, the Rondo neighborhood stood as a significant cultural, residential, and business hub for Saint Paul’s Black community. The construction of the Interstate 94 freeway in the late 1950s and 1960s tragically displaced over 650 families and numerous businesses, leaving a profound impact on the community. Despite these profound challenges, Rondo has resiliently evolved into a diverse and thriving area, with both long-time residents and newcomers actively contributing to its revitalization.

The Rondo Block Party aims to honor the past, celebrate the present, and foster unity and cultural pride as the community reconnects the threads of its shared history. Planned by Rondo natives and dedicated community members, this event promises to be an exciting and meaningful experience for all.
